Industry Leader Commits to “The Ripple Effect” Campaign

RALEIGH, N.C. (June 19, 2012) Architecture and engineering firm Clark Nexsen has announced its financial support for Wake Tech’s largest-ever fundraising initiative, a major gifts campaign called “The Ripple Effect.” The national firm, with offices in NC, VA, GA, and DC, has generously committed $50,000 to The Ripple Effect over the next five years to endow an engineering scholarship at the college. Clark Nexsen presented Wake Tech President Dr. Stephen Scott with a check for $50,000 at today’s meeting of the Board of Trustees.

“It’s our privilege to be able to support Wake Tech through The Ripple Effect campaign,” says Chris Brasier, vice president and design principal at Clark Nexsen. “Wake Tech’s role in the growth and vitality of our community has been a critical one – and it will continue to be. The college provides the educational foundation necessary for individual success and a strong local economy.”

“We’re thrilled to have the commitment of this industry giant,” Dr. Scott says. “Clark Nexsen’s support will have a tremendous impact on the success of the campaign, and in turn, on the lives of students, their families, and their communities. That’s truly a ‘ripple effect’ that contributes to the health of the entire region.”

The Ripple Effect campaign is a response to record-breaking enrollment at Wake Tech and increased demand for the many training programs and educational options the college offers. The campaign will support scholarships and mentoring initiatives for students, faculty and staff innovation, and technology to provide the most relevant and up-to-date training. It will continue throughout 2012 and culminate with Wake Tech’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2013. Investors may make gifts in the form of cash, securities, personal property, and planned gifts of many types.
